RGG Officer: Fall 2022
Position: RSA Representative
Now:
RGG started as a dream back in 2022, and now it is one of the most active clubs on campus. We hope we can continue to bring gaming and everything that comes with it, to UMR for years to come.

Raptor Game Group, or Raptor gaming Group at its inception, was brainchild between people that wished for more of a gaming community on campus.
It was brought together through the pure passion and combined effort of core officers, and fill in officers to get us off the ground.
We wanted our acronym to include GG, a common term used to reference Good Game! Hence how we got the acronym RGG, and are now Raptor Game Group.
A lot of core ideas of RGG were cemented here, and we started learning the joys of fundraising, copyright, and what feels ethically right to sell. We made templates of common used documents and figured out what communication channels to use. Our core team of Founders was set here.
Kylie Van Dyke was founding president and took on the large role of learning how to 'club', be active/legal on campus, and make connections off campus. Abbi Newkirk set into motion our active DnD community and made sure all of our documents and papers were up to snuff. Abigail Duin was a strong glue that helped fill in wherever needed, and held a large amount of meets. Many officers supplemented meets with personal games while we were trying to build up a game library. Cat Tuong played a pivotal role in creating all of RGG's stylish PR materials, templates for PR materials, and personally designed our logo. These founders are what have created the RGG that survives to today.
This semester heralded RGG's biggest officer team (8) and set into motion the largest amount of meets we've ever held. We were as active as we could be and started creating the community we've dreamed of, spanning class years and connecting via games.
Many of our first time officers were eager to help and helped us further cement clearer channels of communications between members, nonmembers and officers.
Just as the semester before, RGG planned a lot of game meets and started collaborating with other clubs more often, notably Minnesota Student Nursing Board and Muslim Student Association.
This semester 3/4 of our Founders graduated and left UMR.
RGG barely survived this semester with only 4/5 officer officers and a fill in officer that helped us survive. We significantly downsized our event total and focused on collaborations, open game time, and supporting DMs in TTRPGs. We also made an active effort to invite and include staff/faculty for many events.
One of our more notable events was the Horror Trivia collab with Minnesota Student Nursing Board and the Nontraditional Student Organization.

We've reached out to past officers and included statements for them if they wanted to provide a little life update!
