About Us
The purpose of this group/club shall be to raise awareness of, educate on, and destigmatize disabilities. It is the goal of the SDC that students at UMR can be educated on respectful ways to communicate with persons with disabilities in professional settings and understand the various ways that disabilities can present themselves in different individuals. The SDC also believes it is important to decrease all forms of ableism and to help students better understand respectful ways to interact with people who may or may not: use various mobility aids, medications, and/or display visual manifestations of disabilities.
